St Augustine's Church

St Augustine of Canterbury, Whitton is located at Hospital Bridge Road, Whitton, Twickenham, Middlesex, TW2 6DE, England.

By rail, travel from Waterloo Station on the Windsor and Eton Line. Whitton is between Twickenham Station and Feltham Station. Whitton Station is in Zone 5 if you buy a Travelcard. Feltham Station is in Zone 6. Trains normally run every at least every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and at least every hour on Sunday and sometimes more often. During the day, between morning and evening rush hours, on Monday to Saturday, it is normally possible to get a train on the Hounslow loop. Whitton is between Twickenham Station and Hounslow Station on this line. A taxi can be hired at Whitton Station.

Turn left on exiting Whitton Station, cross bridge and walk along Percy Road for half a mile. Turn left at the traffic lights into the A358 Hospital Bridge Road. The church is then immediately on your left.


By bus, route H22 from Richmond Station, Whitton Station or Hounslow Bus Station or route 110 from Hounslow Bus Station or Twickenham stop outside the church in Hospital Bridge Road every day at twenty minute intervals or half hourly and route H22 more often on weekdays.

From Monday to Saturday, but not on Sunday, you can use route 481 which runs every hour from West Middlesex Hospital to Kingston and then back again, stopping outside the church on its journey along Hospital Bridge Road.

Ask the bus driver to tell you when you get to the church.

London Underground (the Tube) connects with Hounslow Bus Station (at Hounslow East) and Richmond Station.


If travelling by road, these directions may be helpful:-

From the west along the M3 motorway, continue towards London when exiting the motorway at Sunbury. Keep on the A316 dual carriageway for about 3 miles. Turn left (north) at the first roundabout, the B358 junction, Hospital Bridge Road. The church is then immediately on your right. Turn right through the gap in the central reservation.

From the east, travel along the A316 Great Chertsey Road from the A4 junction at Hogarth Roundabout. Continue along the A316 for a little over 6 miles until the B358 junction, Hospital Bridge Road. Turn right (north) and the church is then immediately on your right.

From the north, travel along the A4 Great West Road. Take the A3063 Sutton Lane, driving south for just under 2 miles. Continue along the B358 Hospital Bridge Road for about two thirds of a mile. The church is on the left just before the junction with the A316 Great Chertsey Road roundabout.

From the south, travel north-west for 1 mile along the A308 from Hampton Court. Turn right onto the A311 Church Street, High Street and continue for 2 miles, finally along Wellington Road. Turn left onto the B358 at the junction with Sixth Cross Road. Continue on the B358 for three quarters of a mile, crossing one set of traffic lights and a roundabout (the A316 Great Chertsey Road). The church is on the right, straight ahead at the roundabout (see photo above). Turn right through the gap in the central reservation in Hospital Bridge Road.
